Context
Minnie Wright is sitting in jail, accused of killing her husband John. While the men are roaming around the house to investigate the murder scene, Mrs. Hale (the neighbor) and Mrs. Peters (the sheriff’s wife) are concerned with Minnie’s quilting project--what the men call “trifles.” As they look closer at Minnie’s quilting, the women come to a horrifying conclusion about what happened in that isolated farmhouse.
