Context
Hason has betrayed Medea by marrying his wealthy boss Armida in order to obtain U.S. citizenship and opportunities for himself and his son Acan. Armida - who owns the house in which Medea and Hason have been living - comes and orders Medea out. She wants Medea gone, not only from the house, but from Los Angeles. Like in the corresponding scene of Euripides’ original, Medea throws herself on the mercy of Armida, begging to have one day to prepare so that she can leave with her dignity. In fact,
