Context
It is the morning after the night before. Julie, the daughter of a wealthy Labour peer, has just spent a night of passion, violence, and desire with John, her father’s chauffeur. The following morning, the pair consider fleeing to start a new life, but their dreams clash with reality. The couple swing between desire and indifference, unable to let go of the class divide that hangs between them and using it as a weapon instead.
