Context
Harry Brewer, a navy officer at the penal colony in New South Wales, is smitten with a young convict called Duckling Smith. Duckling has many admirers, and Harry was recently forced to order the execution of one of them, a certain Handy Baker. As a result, Harry is on the outs with Duckling, who blames him for Handy’s death. To make amends, Harry takes Duckling on a short boat trip around the new colony. HARRY: It’s almost beginning to look like a town. Look, Duckling, there’s the Captain’s house. I can see him in his garden.
HARRY waves. DUCKLING doesn’t turn around.
Sydney. He couldn’t have found a better name. Mobsbury. Lagwood. Duckling Cove, eh?
HARRY laughs. DUCKLING remains morose.

DUCKLING: With that mollie? No.
HARRY: You’re talking to me again. Will you kiss your Harry?
