Eric and Toby have been a couple for seven years. Eric has supported Toby in his writing career and saved him from a more troubled path following Toby’s tough childhood. They recently became engaged, at Eric’s suggestion, but their relationship is about to unravel. Toby is in a personal flunk, having premiered his first play in Chicago to reviews that were positive but ignored him as the playwright. He has also just discovered that Eric has known they are being evicted but chose to conceal it
