Context
Shane Mungitt is coming back after his suspension following a racist and homophobic rant in an interview. He then wrote a public apology, which garnered him some sympathy when people learned about his troubled past. However, star player Darren Lemming doesn’t want him back, and approaches the Skipper to express his worries. However, Darren learns that his influence only goes so far, and he won’t be able to keep Shane off the team.

DARREN: Uh, Skip, is it all right if we talk a minute?
SKIPPER: Oh sure, Darren, come on in.
DARREN: Thanks.
SKIPPER: This was another brutal loss, but you played well. I appreciate that Darren. I appreciate that you can still function while the other guys are all stinkin’ up the place.

SKIPPER: What happens, happens. It’s out of my hands. You’re very important to us. I hope you can adjust. You’ve always been able to adjust. Even to situations that weren’t of your own making. You’re a great player. Nobody doesn’t appreciate that. Truly Darren: Nobody doesn’t.
