Context
After a long day of fighting with his mother, Arnold left the apartment and got drunk--mostly in the hopes that he’d be sorry for how he treated her. Instead, Arnold feels even more resolved that he did the right thing, as she is completely intolerant of him. At the same time, Ed is sleeping on the couch, and confides in Arnold his uncertainty about his marriage to Laurel. The two men wonder if they belong together.
