Context
Mrs Frail has come to see her sister, Mrs Foresight. Mrs Foresight is married, but Mrs Frail is not. Mrs Foresight initially reprimands her sister for going about town unaccompanied with men, but it soon becomes clear that Mrs Foresight is not without fault. Mrs Frail knows too well that her sister regularly enjoys escaping her husband’s clutches. The two women agree to keep each other’s secrets and scheme about how to find Mrs Frail a husband.
