Context
Everyone in the Christmas pageant and Mrs. Bradley, who is now the director, are at the church for the last rehearsal before the pageant. It is also the dress rehearsal, and the Herdman kids and some of the other kids do not have costumes or they have the wrong ones. Mrs. Bradley is distressed that things have not come together and that nobody knows their lines or blocking. Stuck-up Alice has been writing down everything that has been happening and she feels very self-righteous. Imogene
