Context
Zhang Wei and Zhang Lin are brothers, living in Beijing. Zhang Wei is a foreman at a factory, while Zhang Lin is an English language teacher. Zhang Lin lost his fiancee during the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989 and he has been lost in grief ever since. Zhang Wei has come to see Zhang Lin at his apartment. He is spoiling for a fight after Zhang Lin allowed his American friend to plow in and pay for a recent dinner. Before he leaves, Zhang Wei accuses his brother of wasting his life.
