War and weather are intrinsically linked in David Haig’s intense thriller about the days leading up to D-Day in June 1944. Based on real-life events, the play focuses on the debates surrounding the timing of the biggest invasion ever seen in Europe. British meteorologist, Dr James Stagg, and American celebrity weatherman, Colonel Irving Krick, clash in a fiercely stubborn argument over the course of a storm that could make or break the invasion. Krick predicts sunshine, while Stagg forecasts a storm. Under intense pressure, General Eisenhower must weigh up the arguments of both men and decide which men he will trust. At this critical turning point in World War Two, the future of thousands of men weighs on their word alone. Should he stick with his original plan and trust Krick?
