Six young Black men have come together in a form of group therapy, unearthing the experiences and emotional states that have led them to this moment. For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy is a “Black boy fantasia”, exploring the pressured placed on Black men that contribute to the emotional and mental trauma suffered by the community, which leads to the threat of additional Black suicides. Through exploring their hardships, the men find a way to love themselves, and one another, recognizing the King that is within. With themes of heartache, confusion, rage, desires, and joy, For Black Boys… is an incredible feature for a strong cast of six Black men who can tell joyful and brutal stories through poetic text, music, and movement.
