SPY! The Glorious Mind of Agent Garbo

Musical

Overview

Synopsis

SPY! The Glorious Mind of Agent Garbo is based on the true story of Spaniard Juan Pujol Garcia, code-named “Garbo”, a secret double agent during World War II. He is called the greatest spy (and liar) in history, and the only man to receive the highest medals of honor from both the Nazis and the Allies. How did this meek, bubbling, unskilled chicken farmer become the scourge of the Nazi regime and the most important character in the D-Day invasion? Motivated by his detest for fascism and the Nazi treatment of Jews, he and his team of 27 imaginary sub-agents (the ensemble) were classified as top secret by MI5 for decades after the war. But now, the truth begs to be told in a hilarious, and gripping musical journey: tango, big-band, 50’s rock, Bavarian polka, 80’s power ballad, (and Monty Python?) …all in the GLORIOUS MIND OF AGENT GARBO, the chicken farmer who saved the world.
