Overview

Synopsis

The musical tells the story of young people trying to save a well-known comic newspaper for boys, The Buccaneer. Mrs. Barraclough, the wife of the late founder, wants to sell the newspaper to the American publisher, Mr. Maximus. Mr. Maximus would like to change The Buccaneer into one of his horror magazines. A young secretary at The Buccaneer, Mabel, and her fiancé, Peter, are determined to save The Buccaneer. With the help of local children, they convince Mr. Maximus that the comic newspaper does indeed have a future, and the publication is saved.
