Synopsis
At 50, Milli Devereaux has decided to try her hand at writing a travel blog. She convinces her friends to attend the Kentucky Derby with her and while there, she intends to kill two birds with one stone and write not only about the Derby but also about “Glamping.” Upon arrival her friends Twyla Fay, Vivian, Georgia, Wynona, and Milli’s daughter, Jessie Lee, realize they will not be staying in a hotel, but their home for the next three nights will be stylized tents reminiscent of an Arabian Bazaar.
The ladies start off their adventure by attending the Kentucky Derby Festival Ball where the Queen of the Derby is to be announced. Hair and Aqua Net flakes fly when there is a malfunction with the Derby Wheel of Princesses.
Jessie Lee, Milli’s daughter, is two weeks away from graduating college with a musical theater degree and falls for the Derby Bugler at the ball, much to her mother’s dismay. Twyla Faye has her own issues with not losing The Tastee Freeze she owns back in Willacoochee, Georgia, but this Derby trip could change the course of her fate. Vivian, who has sworn off men because of many unfortunate relationships, is amazed that Wynona, whose divorce will be final in a matter of days, manages to find a dreamy man in the woods where they are “Glamping.” Georgia lost her late husband Chip, an Atlanta Braves player, and she is learning to let go again since Chip’s awful demise from a speeding baseball.
Join these ladies on a trip to the Derby they will never forget!
