
Overview
Synopsis
Gloriana depicts the relationship between Queen Elizabeth I of England and the Earl of Essex. In the beginning of the opera, The Earl of Essex is the favorite of the Queen. By the end, he attempts to organize a rebellion against the Queen and is condemned to death.
