Overview
Synopsis
Edgar loves a pure village-girl (Fidelia) and also lusts for the Moorish girl (Tigrana). He ends up running away from the village with Tigrana and lives a life of debauchery. However, he longs to return to Fidelia. To escape from Tigrana, Edgar joins the army. Edgar then stages a mock funeral for himself. Edgar never actually died and is dressed as a monk in order to see who has remained loyal to him. Fidelia is the only one who has remained true and Edgar reveals himself to her. However, in the end, the vengeful Tigrana stabs and kills Fidelia.
