This version of 50 Guns was first presented as part of the Source Festival in Washington DC on June 7, 2013, directed by Ali Miller and starring Kathryn M Ryan. The play is also a part of Gun Control Theatre Action, a group of plays being read around the USA and the world to promote greater gun control.
The ‘guns’ can be as realistic, non-realistic or symbolic as the director or designer desires. They can be represented by replicas, toys, blocks of wood or even apples. It is only important that one of the objects used clearly stands out as the red ‘gun’.
