Splitting Infinity is about Leigh Sangold, a Nobel Prize winner who is seeking to use physics to prove whether or not God exists. One of this astrophysicist’s best friends is a Rabbi who has always been in love with her. Meanwhile, Sangold’s young lover gets into a car accident. Set between the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (known as the Ten Days of Awe), and reaching back into the past, each character seeks answers to questions of faith and science, love and work, and life and death. The play explores universal questions while also focusing on the boundaries of relationships.
