Overview

Synopsis

Based on the popular 2001 novel, Life of Pi follows the harrowing journey of Pi, a 17 year old from India as he immigrates to Canada with his family and their zoo of animals across the pacific. After an especially terrible storm, Pi finds himself stranded on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with only four other survivors: a zebra, a hyena, an orangutan, and a tiger. A story of determination, perseverance and hardship, Pi’s narrative jumps between the boat itself and the Canadian embassy in Mexico, where he eventually tells his story. Through stunning imagery and incredibly dynamic puppeteering work, Life of Pi is a beautiful adaptation of the story so many have loved for the last 22 years.
