Synopsis

Mating Dance of the Werewolf is an investigation of a gruesome murder that also investigates the reality of imagination. Set in the present in Duluth, Minnesota, most of the events take place in Ken's apartment. We need see only a couch, a window, and a bedroom door. Scenes elsewhere are established with props, lighting and sound. In the play, Ken, a police officer, embarks on a passionate romance with Abby, who is new to town. But her quest for authenticity (asking what would happen if we “let our insides out”) unleashes feelings in Ken that he struggles to understand. This, in turn, impacts his relationships with his two closest friends, Allen and Pam. Particularly when Abby claims to be a werewolf.
