Overview
Synopsis
In the space coast town of Titusville, Florida, Jess returns from her third deployment in Afghanistan wounded in action. She has been badly burned by an IED and is covered in skin grafts, missing her hair and constantly in pain. Owing to the pain and her PTSD, she has been assigned to a new video game therapy called “Snow World”, an immersive virtual reality experience created to distract soldiers from their pain. However, ignoring her real life is more difficult than it seems. Along with her physical difficulties, Jess lives with her sister who is dating a man she hates, her mom is suffering from severe dementia, her ex-boyfriend is married, and she no longer recognizes her own face and body. We watch Jess as she tries to navigate her new life and feel comfortable in her, literally, new skin.
