The Players Theatre Co. were established in 1999 to raise funds for the New Empire theatre in Southend. Since the Theatre's closure in 2008 we have continued to produce shows locally, with nearly 60 productions under our belts to date. We present a mixture of play's, cabaret performances and full scale musicals, and regularly take productions to the Savoy Theatre, Tonyrefrail Wales.
We are a friendly group who meet on Sunday evenings in or around Southend-on-Sea, and we stage most of our productions at the Palace Theatre, Westcliff.
Our group has a mixed age range, and we accept applications to join us throughout the year. There are no annual membership fees, only a small show fee and a contribution to rehearsal hall costs each week.
