For more than seventy five years Frankston Theatre Group has continuously provided opportunities for involvement in community theatre. Starting with a fundraising activity for the Red Cross in 1942, the group quickly developed with the enthusiastic support of the Frankston Community.
A founding member of the Victorian Drama League, FTG hosted their early one act play festivals that ran for several weeks, drawing entrants from all over the metropolitan area. The group has consistently presented three to four productions annually, including seasons of one act or short plays, providing an ideal showcase for new actors and directors.
Encouraged by their experiences in community theatre, many members have gone on to undertake formal studies and pursue professional careers in the performing arts.
