Since 1983, Horizon has produced over 130 professional contemporary plays and reaches over 45,000 patrons every year with an adventurous mix of nationally and internationally acclaimed plays and our own Atlanta stories. Horizon’s main home is an intimate 172-seat theatre located between Inman Park and the eclectic Little Five Points business and arts district.
We annually offer a mainstage season of six to eight contemporary plays for diverse Atlanta audiences, a Family series for younger audiences, and free outdoor performances with Little Five Arts Alive from April through October. We also create new plays from, for, and about Atlanta today through our annual New South Play Festival program. We develop new audiences and artists through our education programs: the New South Young Playwrights Contest and Festival, Horizon In-School Playwriting Workshops, the Horizon Apprentice Company (early career professionals), the Intern Program (for college students) and the high school theatre program at The New School.
