East Carolina University's College of Fine Arts and Communication offers several degrees and concentrations in theatres.
The BA in Theatre arts is a flexible liberal arts degree in which students gain the comprehensive skills required to succeed in the field of theatre as well as related fields that demand superior critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. In our Musical Theatre concentration, you’ll receive a comprehensive, intensive four-year training in acting, singing and dance to gain the experience you’ll need to competitively pursue a career in musical theatre. You will study with faculty actively engaged in the profession to hone both the technique and artistry required of a versatile musical theatre performer in today’s industry. In the Theatre for Youth concentration, you’ll receive a comprehensive, intensive training experience that includes academics, studio training and performance internships. You’ll study to be a performer, education outreach coordinator, director or administrative professional in children’s theatre companies.
