The LCC theatre program gives students many opportunities to perform while providing a strong foundation for transfer to a four-year institution. Theatre majors are part of an ensemble: you take classes with the same group of students for two years. The theatre program concentrates on Stanislavski's system of acting, vocal and physical expressiveness, improvisation, analysis and performance of Shakespeare. Each of the first three semester's studio experience culminates in a Black Box performance. The fourth semester builds audition skills and acting training for film. The Theatre program also offers supplemental courses in stage combat, makeup, theatre history, improvisation and directing.
