BGO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit performing arts company based in Lexington -- the heart of Kentucky's beautiful "Bluegrass" region. Founded in 2008, the group is a unique collective of music and theater artists that specializes in bringing new works to life -- from musicals to operas and everything in between. Now embarking on our eleventh season, we have received hundreds of works from writers and composers throughout the U.S. and dozens of other countries. As of this coming season, we will have produced some two dozen of them in their entirety and presented excerpts from dozens more.
