Grab Bag Theater is a student run theater company based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Over 100 students from more than a dozen schools have participated in our events.
GBT's mission is to provide youth with opportunities to perform, the skills and support to produce shows independently, and an active theater network across the San Francisco Peninsula. To expand the role of students in theater, the GBT produces an annual theatrical season with at least one full-scale play or musical, puts teenage students in all positions of leadership and performance, hosts performing arts festivals, and provides resources for youth theater startups.
GBT's Executive Board manages our activities, and is supported by a junior board. We welcome students from 8th grade to sophomores in college to be a part of this student organization. Students have the opportunity to act, tech, choreograph, direct, vocal coach, produce, or stage manage for all shows put on by the GBT.
We work with the Veteran's Memorial Senior Center in Redwood City to put on our shows, and we call their 280 seat theater home.
