“Pride mixed with nostalgia…at the opening of the new Hillbarn Little Theatre…” wrote theater critic Barbara Bladen in The San Mateo Times dated May 27, 1968. She continued, “The collective lump in the audience’s throat was as big as the theatre itself as the evening divided itself into ceremonial and theatrical.
