Welcome to Capital Area Productions. CAPS is a youth theater group based now in Sarasota, FL and dedicated to fostering a love of theater and dance in children ages 5-18. CAPS was originally based in Upstate, NY for almost 10 years. CAPS welcomes and invites all children from the area to participate - previous theater/dance experience is not necessary. We teach all aspects of theater and dance - from behind the scenes to performing live on stage. Children receive coaching in voice (singing), dancing (all forms) and acting. CAPS believes that a positive experience builds self-esteem, fosters creativity, and promotes team work - all while having fun and making new friends! CAPS has had students appear all over Broadway, and in National Tours, Movies and Commercials. Many are currently attending prestigious colleges including Julliard and Pace!
