Roger Bean is an American writer, director, producer, and publisher. Known for his specialization in creating jukebox musicals, Bean’s best known for his musical, The Marvelous Wonderettes, which produced several sequel musicals based around the same characters. Other jukebox musicals include The Andrews Brothers, Route 66, Don’t Touch That Dial!, and Why Do Fools Fall In Love?, which have been produced across the USA, Canada, and abroad. Bean has also worked frequently as a director. His works have been seen on stages across America, such as the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Delaware Theatre Company, Skylight Opera Theatre, and the Utah Shakespearean Festival.
President of Stage Rights, an independent theatrical publisher and licensing company, Bean is also a publisher and a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society and the Dramatists Guild. He also created Roger Bean Productions, which has co-produced numerous shows including the Broadway productions of Vanya, Sonia, Masha & Spike, A Christmas Story, Annie, and A Night With Janis Joplin.
