Enda Walsh is an Irish playwright and screenwriter. Born in Dublin, he was the youngest of six children and attended Dublin Youth Theatre. He began his career as a playwright in 1993 and he has subsequently written the scripts for over 30 plays, musicals, operas, and art installations. Notable productions include Disco Pigs (1996), Penelope (2010), Once (2011), Ballyturk (2014), and Lazarus (2015; co-written with David Bowie). Walsh has also written the screenplays for several films, including Hunger (2008; co-written with Steve McQueen) and Chatroom (2010).
Walsh is married and has one daughter. He currently resides with his family in London.
