One of the most well-known classical composers of the 20th and 21st century, Jonathan Dove's prolific output encompasses choral works, opera, plays, films, and orchestral music. Perhaps best known of these are his vocal works, and particularly his operas. He has a unique understanding of vocal writing, which has earned him great respect from contemporary audiences and performers. Dove has won several awards for his work, and was given an OBE for his contributions to music in the 2019 Queen's Birthday honors.
