Tom Dudzick is an American playwright. He was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1950 and graduated from SUNY Fredonia before moving to New York City in the 1980s. His first play, a family Christmas comedy titled Greetings, was well-received when it premiered off-Broadway. He then wrote Over the Tavern, which would become the first in a series of three plays about the Pazinski family. Dudzick bases many of his plays on his own upbringing in a Catholic family in Buffalo.
Dudzick’s plays have been produced internationally and remain popular among regional and off-Broadway theatres. Productions of his comedy Miracle on Division Street broke box office records at Penguin Repertory Theatre in New York. Dudzick lives in Nyack, New York, with his wife.
