Giulio Caccini was an Italian composer, singer, teacher, and instrumentalist. He spanned the late Renaissance / early Baroque period and was the father of the composer, Francesca Caccini, and the singer, Settimia Caccini. Together with Jacopo Peri, he composed the earliest surviving opera, Euridice, and is widely considered to be one of the fathers of Italian opera.
