While Steven Berkoff might be best known for his villainous film roles (from embodying a James Bond villain to playing Hitler in War and Remembrance), he is also an accomplished stage actor, director, and playwright.
Berkoff's first plays were adaptations of Franz Kafka novellas (Metamorphosis, In the Penal Colony, and The Trial). In his more mature career, Berkoff wrote verse dramas as well as used contemporary issues for inspiration. Most recently in 2018, he wrote a one-act play about Harvey Weinstein, called Harvey.
