James I Schempp has a BA from The University of North Dakota and a MFA from the School of Theatre at Ohio University. He is retired after working in all phases of theatre, as well as teaching at the university level. He is the former chair of the Southeastern Theatre Conference Playwrights Program and an emeritus member of the Dramatists Guild. James now lives in Maryland tending his garden.
