Elizabeth Kann is an American children’s book author and physician, best known for co-writing Pinkalicious (2006) and Purplicious (2007) with her sister, illustrator Victoria Kann. Pinkalicious became a New York Times bestseller and launched a widely beloved series of picture books celebrating creativity, individuality, and childhood wonder. Elizabeth’s writing is filled with charm and humor, while her sister’s whimsical illustrations bring their stories vividly to life.

Building on the success of the books, Elizabeth co-wrote Pinkalicious the Musical, which premiered off-Broadway in 2007. The musical adaptation introduced young audiences to the world of Pinkalicious through live theatre, featuring songs, humor, and lessons about moderation and self-expression. It has since become a favorite in children’s theatres and schools across the country, reinforcing the stories’ appeal beyond the page.

In addition to her writing, Elizabeth is a practicing physician. She holds degrees from Vassar College, Columbia University, and Albany Medical College. She has successfully balanced her medical career with her passion for storytelling, bringing a unique perspective to her creative work. She lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and their three children.
