David West Read is a Canadian screenwriter, librettist, and producer. He graduated from the Lila Acheson Wallace Playwrights Program at The Juilliard School and the MFA program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. In 2019, he wrote the book for the Olivier Award-nominated musical & Juliet, which has since transferred to Broadway. His other stage work include the plays The Performers, The Great Pretender, and The Dream of the Burning Boy. On screen, he worked as a writer and producer on the popular television series Schitt’s Creek.
