John McGowan

John McGowan (1894–1977) was an American librettist, playwright, director, and producer known for his work in early 20th-century Broadway musical theatre. Active primarily during the 1920s and 1930s, McGowan was a prolific and influential figure who contributed to a wide array of musical comedies and revues during a formative era in American stage entertainment.

Born in the United States in 1894, McGowan began his career in theatre during the heyday of vaudeville and early Broadway revues.
