Pippa Cleary is a London-based composer and lyricist most well known for musicals such as The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ and The Great British Bake Off, both written with her long-time writing partner Jake Brunger. Cleary is the only British woman to date to have three shows produced in the West End, and has composed numerous jingles and adverts, as well as written for the BBC and the American TV show Love Island.
A lover and writer of children’s songs, Cleary has penned abundantly for children and teenagers including three musicals for the Singapore Repertory Theatre: Red Riding Hood, Treasure Island, and Chicken Little. Shortly after graduation from Bristol University, Cleary opened Pippa’s Poppets, a program teaching drama and music to pre-school children in London. She collaborated with Rob Madge for the popular show My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) which had a successful run in the West End in October/November 2022 and is mentored by brilliant composer Claude Michel Schonberg.
