Jay Presson Allen (born Jacqueline Presson) was an American screenwriter, playwright, and novelist. She is best known for her stage adaptations of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1966; Allen also wrote the screenplay for the 1969 film) and Forty Carats (1968). She also wrote the 1989 play Tru, adapted from the words and works of Truman Capote.
