Mike Bartlett was born on October 7, 1980 in Oxford, England. He studied English and Theatre Studies at the University of Leeds. He has won the 2010 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre, the 2015 Olivier Award for Best New Play and Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre, the 2006 Tinniswood Award, the 2006 Richard Imison Award, and a 2013 BAFTA award nomination - Breakthrough Talent (Television Craft category).
