Erlina Ortiz is a Dominican-American playwright, actor, and theatre maker based in Philadelphia. Her plays on gentrification, domestic violence, and rape culture have been produced with Power Street Theatre Company (PSTC) where she is resident playwright. Erlina is also a member of The Foundry, a Philadelphia Emerging Playwrights Lab.
In 2016 her play She Wore Those Shoes had a developmental reading at Theatre Exile’s Studio X-hibition Series, and was produced at the Iron Factory by PSTC in the fall. Up next: Las Mujeres in the Spring of 2018.
Erlina believes being an artist is a superpower, she believes in using her powers for good.
