Biography
Adrienne Kennedy
Adrienne Kennedy is an African-American playwright who gained prominence during the Black Arts movement in the 1960s and 1970s. Her plays explore racial dynamics in symbolic and often surrealist dramatic forms. She has won several awards for her work, including an Obie Award for "Best Distinguished Play" for Funnyhouse of a Negro.
Kennedy has taught or lectured at many prestigious universities, including Yale, Harvard, Brown, and Stanford.
