Born in New York as Barry Imberman, Barry Mann is a successful songwriter along with his wife, Cynthia Weil. He also had Top 40 single as a performer, "Who Put the Bomp" (co-written with Gerry Goffin), in 1961. In 2011, he and Weil were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
