Joe Tracz is an American playwright and screenwriter.
Tracz is the author of Lucille and Outer Critics Circle nominee Be More Chill, which opened on Broadway in 2019. His show The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, produced by Theatreworks USA, also received nominations for Lortel and Drama Desk Awards. His book for Poster Boy, about the 2010 suicide of college student Tyler Clementi, was produced at Williamstown Theatre Festival. His work has been developed at the Public Theatre, Ars Nova, Roundabout Theatre Company, Manhattan Theatre Cub, and Second Stage Theatre. He has also written for Netflix's Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Tracz received a BA from Kalamazoo College and an MFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.
