Analysis
The chorus are a central point in Gluck’s opera and play many different roles within the story. They appear first as shepherds and nymphs seeing Orfeo’s mourning at Euridice’s tomb, then become furies and spirits guarding the gates to hades and preventing Orfeo’s passing.
