Analysis
Pugsley Addams is the son of Morticia and Gomez Addams, and the younger brother of Wednesday. He lives in the Addams family mansion with his parents and sister, his Uncle Fester, his grandmother, and the family servant, Lurch. He shares the Addamses’ preference for pain and mayhem; his favorite pursuits include being tortured by Wednesday. He is home-schooled, and thus rather isolated. He counts his older sister to be his only friend. When she gets a new boyfriend, he worries that she’ll no longer have time to torture him and that he’ll be lonely.
Smart and mischievous, Pugsley steals his Grandma’s Acrimonium -- a potion that brings out the drinker’s darker nature -- and hatches a plan to sabotage his sister’s impending wedding and, in so doing, get his best friend back.

Editor Picks & Commentary
Pugsley Addams is mischievous, emotionally raw, and deeply afraid of losing his sister’s attention. Though comedic on the surface, the role depends on real emotional stakes—his sabotage comes from fear, not malice. In audition, avoid playing Pugsley as a cartoon. Instead, ground his antics in genuine neediness and sibling devotion, allowing the humor to emerge organically from desperation and timing.
Vocally, Pugsley is typically a strong child or young teen performer with clear storytelling and expressive phrasing rather than sheer vocal power. Rhythm and lyric clarity are essential, especially in “What If,” which demands emotional honesty. Show your ability to switch quickly between comedy and vulnerability, and lean into physical storytelling—Pugsley’s body often reveals what his words don’t.
